Katarzyna (Kate) Izabela Miednik was born on 4th July 1995 in Dzierzoniow, Poland. Since her very early childhood she has proved to have much talent for acting singing dancing and especially music, which has become ubiquitous in her life.
As soon as during her first summer holidays at the seaside, when she was only a year-old little girl, she took part in special competitions for children stunning her parents and viewers by her perfect hearing and an unusual sense of rhythm.
At the age of 2 she began to attend the nursery school and she was assigned to a special family group. The group was different from others where children varied in age from 2 to 6 year-olds. Having a contact not only with her peers but also with the older schoolmates she always managed to keep up with them. This caused a quick development of her personality. Singing and learning the lyrics by heart as well as practicing dance steps were always easy exciting challenges to little Kate. She has always been very passionate about her job. She also took part in all local concerts and performances arranged by the town authorities, which always ended up with a warm applause of the audience.
When Kate was only 5 years old, she could already read and write well. After leaving the nursery school she started her education in pre-primary school, where her talent was also recognized immediately. With a substantial support from her new teachers she continued to develop dancing as well as acting in a school theatrical group. The progress was visible. Soon she began to dance and sing at numerous ceremonies and vocal competitions.
At the age of six she joined a dancing group of 10 – 14 year olds. To be admitted to the group she was given only one month to master and pass a very difficult choreographic composition, which her friends had been practicing for half a year. Together with the group she took part in her first international performance in the Czech Republic.
One day there was a concert celebrating the achievements of the Dzierzoniow Cultural Centre. Kate was there as well. After the concert she was suddenly offered to sing at one of the concerts of The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, which is an internationally famous massive Polish charity movement collecting donations for sick children. The task wasn’t easy. Within the space of two days a new song was to be created from scratch with a brand new melody and lyrics. The lyrics to the song were soon written, but Kate had only a few hours to learn them by heart. As usual, she began to assimilate and memorize new words with true passion. However, the rehearsal on Friday late evening proved to be a failure. Surprisingly, on the next day in the morning, as soon as Kate got up, she sang the entire song with not a single error. That gave all of us a real hope for success. All Saturday Kate was practicing her rendition and when the day came she was absolutely ready for the show.
Together with entering the Primary School she began her education at the State School of Music of the First Degree in Dzierzoniow in the class of the grand piano. In addition to practicing playing the instrument, she was the sole student of the first class to be allowed to join the choir, as the choir is compulsory only since the beginning of the second class.
Moreover, in the afternoons she attended the vocal and dance classes at the Private School of Dancing and Singing of Mrs. Anna Lutz in Bielawa.
Development of vocal Kasi is so dynamic that there was a need to find a highly qualified teacher. Since October 2005 he attends Mrs. Dr hab. Izabela Jeżowska of the National Theatre School and the Academy of Music in Wroclaw. These classes give Kate a dynamic development of the vocal workshop.
In February 2006, she was cast in the main role in the musical „A Little Princess” (Musical Theater „Capitol” in Wrocław).
Since 2000 to 2007 Kasia was the winner of dozens of competitions, festivals (Nationwide and International), played its part in concerts and recitals (Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Czech Republic).
She likes sports (basketball, volleyball, swimming, sailing), likes to photograph and playing the ukulele.
And what about the future? Time will tell!
Finally, a few words about her voice which is a pure soprano. Strong and deep in all parts of the vocal range is really rare to hear these days.
